Holiday Fun!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything, so I'm going to try and do some catching up. Here we go, one blog at a time.

We had a pretty great holiday season. We got to spend time with both of our families and our little dog too! Well, he's not quite that little. He's gotten up to 80 lbs. It's not fat, he's just husky. We got him the XXL bone for Christmas and it only took him 4 days to eat it all.

One year it was overalls, the next fish boxers and this year,
these awesome shirts!
What a brother-in-law I have! :)

2 Years Down, Forever to Go!

It's hard to believe that it was two years that we got married and six years ago when it all began. I never would have guessed that I would meet the man I was supposed to marry this early in life. My sister had always told me I'd meet him in college, but I had no idea. What's funny is that I actually saw him my last year of high school, but never would've guessed that I'd marry him. My first memory of him is as "trucker-hat boy". He had the long hair and popular (at the time), trucker type hat. My girlfriends and I thought he was super cute and pretty much fantasized about him. The next semester, my first semester of college, we officially met in a volleyball practice. He, and several other boys, were recruited to scrimmage the volleyball team and he was all smack talk. From then on, me and my best friend started hanging out with him, and just a few months later we started dating. A pretty crazy and fast start. I didn't think much of it at first, but he knew from the beginning. Let's just say, it was interesting and worth it all!
{This is only part of the story :)}

{The Beginning}

 We started dating January 2005, made it through all four years of college, both of us, and got married December 2008. You can definitely say that it was not rushed but it was all in perfect time. "I promise to love you in the good times and bad, when our love seems simple, and when it is an effort."
{The Oath}

One year wonderful year passed. We made it through some fun and fights, but we made it through. He got a new job, we got to travel together in the summer, and we bought a house. Not too many major events happened, but it was a great year. We decided to celebrate in Dallas at the Aloft hotel, Longhorn Steakhouse, Six Flags and the glorious Ikea!

{One Year Down}

Second year was definitely interesting. It was good for us, as a couple, but it had  several eventful moments. Our lovely home was broken into and we got a dog, who ended up getting parvo at 2 months old, but made it through. He makes our lives interesting for sure and he keeps us entertained. Hopefully he'll be the guard dog we want him to be. Each and every day we learn something about one another. I pray that there will never be a day when we have nothing to talk about nor nothing to learn.

Beloved Birthdays...

For the past couple years my birthday has been somewhat of a bust. My handsome husband just so happens to have a job that requires all his attention during the same week. Not his fault, but it still stinks. I did, however, get to spend the evening with my lovely older sister. Sushi, Marble Slab, then shopping. All things I greatly enjoy. The next weekend, I got to celebrate with my entire family - Ted's and ice cream cake. It was wonderful! I love my family!

Chad also got me a great gift. This year, we celebrated a little late - he got me tickets to Michael Buble. Love him (Michael and my hubby)! It was amazing! We had great seats. Michael is such an entertainer. There is never a dull moment. Thanks babe for my birthday gift! I had a great time!

A group called Naturally 7 opened for Michael and then sang with him later in the show. They are very impressive. They don't use any instruments, but rather, they become the instrument. It was pretty cool.

Then out came Michael! He opened with "Crazy Love", which is one of my favorite songs he covers.

Some of his other greats were Georgia on My Mind, Everything, Feeling Good and more. He could sing to me every night of the week. :)

Oh So Much to be Thankful for...

Well this year Chad and I decided to host the family Thanksgiving at our house. This included both sides , plus some - 22 total. I was worried about Chad the whole time, since he's not too fond of big crowds, but it ended up being me getting stressed out on the day of. Note to self - if hosting, don't promise to make a warm dish. Anyways, once the festivities began, I became more relaxed and had a lot of fun! Here's just a portion of the fun we had. This may have to become an annual event!

There was no lack of entertainment that day, that's for sure. The two little ones kept the fun going with a few nice dance moves. Who knew they had moves like this?

That evening was the annual planning of the infamous Black Friday Shop-a-thon. It was madness as usual, but what would Black Friday be without the crazy and the cold. Overall, it was a wonderful Thanksgiving and it was nice to knock them all out in one day. Can't wait to see what next year brings!

Suckered In!

Well I did it. I started a blog. Now I can't promise that this is going to be very interesting stuff, but it should be fun. I was pretty much suckered into this by my long distance pal Lindy Loo! Oh, how I miss her, especially today for some reason. She wants to keep updated on what's going on in my life, but my life is really not all that thrilling. Anyways, Lindy, this is for you!

I must say that I am very behind. I created this blog about a month ago but have yet to write anything obviously. Lots of good ideas, just no action. So here's to the blogs to come, whether they be great or completely awful! :)
